On April 2006, a group of East Africans launched the East African Community Organization (EACO) with the aim of carrying
out charitable, humanitarian, and educational activities in both the capital district and in East Africa. That same
spring, the EACO constitution was drafted and a provincial team of officers was chosen to run the organization.
On
May 2006, the EACO capital district held it inauguration ceremony with pomp and fanfare at the Partridge Pub in Albany.
It was also the first attempt at soliciting funds for membership and future activities.
On November 2008, the East African
Community Organization held its first democratic elections in which a new government was elected. Since its inception in April
2006, the organization has been run by a provincial government led by Dr Joseph Rukanshagiza and Vice President Dr Mike Kiyabo.
The organization members wish to thank all officers who took part in the running of the provincial government. The two years
since inception were challenging indeed but these officers have been able to lay the groundwork for the new administration.
We wish the new administration led by Mr Amos Okoth good luck in their term.
